Nibble your way to healthier blood pressure
Blood pressure is directly affected by what we eat so understanding what’s good for your heart and what is not is important.
Five ways to improve your diet:
1. Balance your calories intake with physical activities. Feeling a bit peckish? Offset extra calories with more exercise or walk.
2. Watch for foods packed with fat, cholesterol, salt and sugar. The values can be found on the foods packaging and you will often find a healthier version of your favorite food.
3. Limit processed food and add fresh or homemade dishes to you daily menu.
4. Limit alcohol. Not only alcohol is not good for your health, it is also often high in empty calories.
5. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Water helps lower your appetite while accelerating your metabolism.
