Blood pressure numbers and what they mean

When you take a reading on your BP monitor, you receive 3 numbers: systolic BP (the highest number), diastolic BP (the lower number) and your heart rate.

Normal, healthy blood pressure is less than 120/80 (120 systolic and 80 diastolic).

The American Heart Association categorizes blood pressure ranges like this:

Your Lara Health app uses the same color chart to mark each of your readings so you always know if your blood pressure is normal or high.
